BLOOD AND GLASS REVEAL NEW TRACK
AND ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE OF PUNK SHADOWS
Montreal, Tuesday January 17th, 2017 – Today Blood and Glass reveal Hop The Fence, the new track from their upcoming album Punk Shadows, which is set for release March 24th on Simone Records.
Recorded by Warren Spicer at Mixart and La Traque studios, the album Punk Shadows is the fruit of the dynamic and energetic creative couple Lisa and Morgan Moore. While Morgan was touring the world with The Barr Brothers and Lisa was on tour with Little Scream, the album took shape thanks to the extraordinary dedication of these two partners in crime, who committed themselves heart and soul to their project. Hop The Fence is the perfect example of what a wild adventure the recording of the album was:
Lisa says, “Morgan recorded an extra brass section in San Francisco! He was touring with the Triplettes de Belleville, while I was playing a festival in Portugal. I told him, ‘The horns are not horny enough on Hop The Fence!’ So he paid the musicians in beer and wine and they recorded over the La Traque sessions at a concert hall in San Fran.”
Although it hasn’t yet been released, Punk Shadows has travelled across the world. The visuals, created by Brigitte Henry, Natalka Prozsak and Sarah Marcotte-Boislard, were finished while Blood and Glass were on tour in Italy, performing the live version of their new opus: the perfect way to round off a production full of colour and good memories, bringing together a host of talented musicians who are friends in the studio and outside as well: François Lafontaine, Robbie Kuster, Mélanie Bélair, Brad and Andrew Barr, Marie-Pierre Arthur, Érika and Simon Angell – to name a few. The band embarked on this crazy adventure without counting the hours, and gave it so much love.
Innumerous sleepless nights were spent polishing off arrangements, every penny was invested in studio equipment, and every second of free time was spent perfecting the sound: this is how Punk Shadows came to life.
Lisa explains, “Even when we were on tour, all we did was think, live, breathe, create Punk Shadows... And you can hear it: the layers, the textures, how it captures a raw energy from having seen the world in its beauty or being frustrated with politics... just screaming in the studio...”
Punk Shadows is available for digital pre-order on iTunes and Bandcamp.
