“The track itself is a wheezy power pop track ornamented with a contorting guitar line and a sense of playful dejection.”
– Under The Radar“Los Angeles-based quartet Sego creates boisterous, hook-driven indie rock reminiscent of Beck or Phoenix in the early 2000s.”
– NPR

riddled with musical quirks and kinks that call to mind Beck’s zanier tendencies. The bass provides a pounding pattern akin to a heart on the verge of bursting, which the song eventually does during its climactic, jarring, but wholly enrapturing chorus…with an anthemic track of this magnitude, festival bookers would be smart to snatch them up for the summer season.”
– Consequence of Sound
Sego have shared the video for their new single “Heart Attack” on Under The Radar. The band’s track “Neon Me Out” was recently featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered. The track originally premiered on Billboard. In January they announced their new LP Sego Sucks and shared the Matt Odom directed video for their new single “Shame” on Consequence of Sound. The band also did an Origins piece for the website, explaining their influences behind the track. Sego Sucks will be out 4/5 via Roll Call Records. The band also announced a couple shows including SXSW shows. Dates are below. You can pre-order the album here.

The band’s album title originates from what started out as a hashtag from some disgruntled audience member, ‘Sego Sucks’ ended up encapsulating the ethos behind this entire record.

The band has taken ownership of the negative comment and made it their own. They’ve even gotten Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore on board, as well as comedian Gilbert Gottfried and Jenny Lee of Warpaint. Expect others to say #Segosucks in the upcoming weeks.
