Friendo
Friendo is a three piece guitar driven group with a dynamic sound that blends garage rock, post punk, pop and new wave. Songs range from upbeat, overdriven chants to more delicate ballads with icy moods and lush harmonies. Lots of Brittish influences like Warsaw/New Order, WIRE, Siousxie Sioux and the Banshees, The Adverts, and American punk founders like the Electric Eels and Devo.
Friendo released their first LP "Cold Toads" on St. Ives (Secretly Canadian) in 2010, as well as 2 split singles (with Women, Cold Pumas, Fair Ohs, Lab Coast) on Faux Disc (UK) in 2011. On these recordings alone, Friendo has toured Canada, the States and Europe multiple times, sharing the stage with headlining acts such as Thee Oh Sees, Best Coast, Women, Future Islands, Crocodiles, Cococoma, Demon's Claws, Chad VanGaaelen and more.
The band is currently in recording for the second full length, anticipated to release in 2012.
Other projects of Friendo's memebers include Women (Jagjaguar/Flemish Eye) and The Shrapnelles (Hozac/Mammoth Cave).
