BIOGRAPHY

Yalee lived in Dayton, Ohio until he was 19-years old when he decided to move to the east coast to pursue his dream in music.  Yalee was born in to a generation of musical talents from great grandparents, grandparents and his parents.  His mother who sings in a gospel group known as The Ditto Girl’s has opened up for national artists such as Marvin Sapp and Rance Allen.  His father, a rapper, shared a stage with the late great Tupac Shakur in the early 90’s. Able to jump between R&B and hip-hop in a Chris Brown style, singer, songwriter, and performer Yalee launched his career with Remember My Name, a mixtape that featured a cover of Rihanna's hit "Stay." A year later, the mixtape track "Pretty Girl Dance" was released as a single, while 2015 saw the arrival of "Pretty Girl Dance, Pt. 2," featuring Fetty Wap on the remix. Subsequent singles "Kick Up & "Friends with Benefits" arrived in 2016, with the latter two also appearing on Yalee's 2017 EP, 10 Hours Away: You Was Never wit Me Sleepin in My Buick. Yalee released his first debut album August of 2019 with hit songs like, “Mommas Sorrows”, a song that expresses how senseless killings are on the rise and encourages his generation to find love, respect and to walk in the light.  His heartfelt “I Miss You” track is a tribute to his late grandmother who battled with cancer and her life was cut short by a tragedy. “Fake Smiles” has taken his listeners by storm as it is a universal song that is relatable to all generations, cultures and races.  This song speaks about needing a healing from the toxic secrets kept inside because we feel like nobody care, understands or that we are in our predicament alone.  These and other tracks carry a positive message to find healing, compassion and love for our fellow man and to find self-love.  Yalee’s 1V1 You vs the World album speaks to everyone everywhere in the world.
