BIOGRAPHY

Haiku Hands Creation Story: Like the beginning of most relationships timing was everything and Haiku Hands was no different. For Claire Nakazawa aka Chaos Emerald and Beatrice Lewis aka Beatrice, both with full artistic careers already in flow, their chance meeting at several music festivals inspired a conversation around their mutual love of music, the work hard/party hard life of a creative, drinking tea, expanding human consciousness through pop music. With collaboration at the heart of the weirdly shaped poem that is Haiku Hands, the band teamed up with Angus Stuart aka El Gusto (Hermitude) who began remixing their songs, writing new beats, exploring his inner house junkie and finessing the art of barbequing. Joel Ma was in-between albums for his solo project Joelistics and once he had witnessed the awesome potential of an all-female punk rap, began to meet for a series of writing sessions over a year and a half.
